How did someone else’s answer make you think differently about the topic?

Great For: New Romances, first dates, forever daters, and even best friends or very deep relationships!
Players - 2 People, 3-4 Max if playing with BEST FRIENDS | Ages 15+
-
Getting Started
Step 1: Split the Deck
Divide the deck into two equal halves. Give one half to your date—because sharing is caring! 🤝
Step 2: Prepare the Special Cards
Look through your half of the deck to find these special cards:
1, 4, 6, 9, 14, 23, 27, 28, 31, 34, 38, 40, 41, 42, 45, 49, 67, 68, 69.Be on the lookout for all of them, just in case your deck got mixed up beforehand. 👀
Once you’ve found them, shuffle them together and place them face down in a single pile. Set the rest of the cards aside for now.
How to Play
Step 1: Pick Your Roles
Decide who will be Person A and who will be Person B. (ADD MORE PEOPLE IF NEEDED)
The person who first reached out to say hello or made the first move goes first. Take your time and try to remember who made the first move! If you can't recall, the person who has the most courage gets to start! 💪✨
In a small group, the person with the most letters in their first name goes first! (This is the name that most people in your life refer to you as.)
Step 2: Draw a Card
Person A draws the top card from the special pile and reads the prompt aloud. 🃏
Both Person A and Person B guess whether Person A’s response will be:
Different,
In-Between, or
The Same as Person B’s response.
Write your guesses on your individual scorecard—no peeking at each other’s guesses! 📝👀
Fill in your responses in the scorecard ON THIS PAGE BELOW (YOU CAN FILL IT IN DIRECTLY TOO!)
You can also download it to your device. If you use Google Docs, click the button below, log into Google, and then choose "Make A Copy".
What's D.I.S.™ Response Key (with Real Card Examples):
Use this fun spectrum to figure out if your answers feel Different, In-Between, or the Same!(With multiple people, write the other person's initials next to your response so that if there are 3 people, each round will have 3 responses that represent your response compared to each person's response.)
D = Different: Your answers head in totally separate directions.
Example (Card 1: Seasons):Person A: “Spring, because I’m feeling fresh and ready to grow.”
Person B: “Winter, because I’m feeling calm, quiet, and reflective.”
Result: Completely different vibes—D!
I = In-Between: Your answers share a common thread but aren’t identical.
Example (Card 9: Hidden Talents):Person A: “I’m a secret poetry writer.”
Person B: “I’m secretly learning to code video games.”
Result: Both hidden creative pursuits, but in different forms—In-Between!
S = Same: Your answers match in spirit, goal, or feeling.
Example (Card 14: Superhero Powers):Person A: “The ability to stop time.”
Person B: “Super speed.”
Result: Both want more time and efficiency—Same!

Instructions
Step 1: Pick the Right Question
When choosing an opening or closing question:
Consider the theme of your circle.

Select or adapt a Relationship Building CUE Card Question to fit the theme. 🎯
Step 2: Read the Question and Model the Response
Start by reading the question aloud.
Model the response yourself to set the tone for depth and authenticity.

After everyone shares their response, connect the Check-In Question back to the circle’s theme or purpose. This ties everything together and makes the experience more meaningful. 🎀
*Talking Piece
A talking piece is an object that:
Holds significance to the circle’s theme or participants.
Acts as a conversation regulator.
Only the person holding the talking piece speaks, while others actively listen.

Additional Tips
🚨Customization tips! 🚨
You always have the option to customize a CUE Card question to better align with your circle’s theme—in fact, we highly recommend it! Customizing questions helps make the circle feel more cohesive and prepares participants for the topic, allowing them to engage with greater ease.
Here’s how to adjust card questions to match your theme:
Circle Theme - Respect
Don't be afraid to get creative and think about how your theme can shape the questions! 🎨
Change Question #53 from:
“In exactly 3 words, express how you are feeling. Share why you chose those words.” to...
“In exactly 3 words, express what comes to mind when you think about the word Respect. Share why you chose those words.”
Change Question #44 from:
“Describe how you are feeling using a weather pattern.” to...
“Use a weather pattern to describe how it feels when you feel respected.”
